I’ve had it before! The taste is similar to that of squid & comes with the cooked eyeball, some broth, and some salad. It’s an interesting appetizer or first course and I would order it again.

In China they don’t just serve some weird-looking, strange-tasting food. they also serve truly bizarre foods. One of those is chicken testicles. They look a bit like large white beans which are boiled or fried whole with a soft squishy inside. They’re served in a broth with your choice of rice or noodles. Nothing like a bowl of testicles for dinner! Definitely at the top of the bizarre foods in China and the world.

Next time, for sure. Given that I love all sorts of weird foods, this had to be on my list. This is an entire street bird (a woodpecker) threaded on a stick, marinated and then roasted. Here’s hoping you love it as much as me!
